Tour Details

Private guide, air-conditioned transport, and easy entry to the last Wonder of the Ancient World.

A half-day Giza Pyramids and Sphinx tour gets you to the only pyramid among the ancient world's seven wonders still standing, with a private guide who sets the pace around your questions instead of a group schedule.

Built for travelers short on time in Cairo, this tour covers what actually matters in a few hours: standing in front of the pyramids, understanding what you're looking at, and getting the shots you came for.

Your guide meets you at your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle and heads straight to the Giza Plateau, on the outskirts of Cairo. There you'll see all three Great Pyramids—Khufu's, the largest and oldest of the group; Khafre's, which still holds fragments of its original limestone casing near the summit; and Menkaure's, smaller in scale but no less deliberate in its construction. Your guide walks you through the engineering questions Egyptologists still debate the funerary role each pyramid served, not just the dates and dimensions.

From the pyramids, you'll move to the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple of Khafre, where priests once carried out purification rites before a pharaoh's burial. It's a shorter stop but a dense one—the Sphinx's lion body and human face, the temple's granite construction, and why this exact spot was chosen for it.

Itinerary

Day0

Giza Pyramids, Great Sphinx & Valley Temple of Khafre

  • Your guide meets you at your Cairo hotel, and you're on the road to Giza within minutes in a private vehicle with no other passengers.
  • You'll spend the first stretch at the pyramids themselves, walking between Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure at your own pace, with stops for the panoramic viewpoint and photos.
  • From there it's a short walk to the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple of Khafre—the last stop before heading back.
  • If you want a camel ride, this is when to say so; your guide can arrange it on the spot rather than as a separate booking.
  • You're dropped back at your hotel once the plateau visit wraps up, roughly four hours after pickup.
