Your cruise ship arrives at Port Said, where your Aten Tours guide meets you holding a sign with your name and then takes you on the private drive to Cairo about 3 hours each way in an air-conditioned vehicle.
Your day begins at the Giza Plateau with the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus, followed by the Great Sphinx, carved with the head of a man and the body of a lion, and the Valley Temple, where the pharaohs were once mummified.
From there, you'll continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum, home to the full Tutankhamun collection and thousands of artifacts spanning Egypt's pharaonic history.
If time allows, your guide can add a stop at Khan El Khalili Bazaar, Cairo's old market for traditional handicrafts and souvenirs, before returning you to your cruise ship at Port Said. This same route is also available as one of our Cairo day tours from the airport.
Comfortable shoes and sun protection. The Giza Plateau involves walking on sand and uneven stone, so bring comfortable walking shoes, a hat, and sunscreen, especially in summer.
