This private day trip from Alexandria to the Giza Pyramids covers the roughly three-hour drive to Cairo in an air-conditioned private car, picking you up directly from your Alexandria hotel.
The Giza Plateau holds the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure and the Great Sphinx, all within walking distance of each other.
Your guide sets the pace around your group specifically—no fixed schedule, no waiting on strangers to catch up, and no rushing past a pyramid because a bus tour is on a timer. The same private car and driver handle the return to Alexandria at the end of the day, so there's no separate transfer to arrange.

Full-Day Tour from Alexandria to Giza Pyramids

Your driver picks you up from your Alexandria hotel in a private, air-conditioned car for the roughly three-hour drive to Giza. On arrival at the Giza Plateau, your Egyptologist guide takes you to the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, explaining the construction and history of each as you go.
From there, you switch to a quad bike for an hour of riding through the desert surrounding the pyramids—open ground, clear sightlines back to the plateau, and stops built in for photos. Once the quad bike ride ends, a camel and its handler are waiting for a slower ride past the Valley Temple toward the Great Sphinx, giving you a different vantage point on the same monuments you just covered on wheels.
With the sightseeing and activities done, your driver takes you back to Alexandria, dropping you at your hotel to close out the day.

Physical requirements: The quad bike ride requires holding the handlebars and controlling the bike over uneven desert terrain—comfortable for most fitness levels, but not recommended for travelers with back or neck problems or those who are pregnant.
What to wear: Light, breathable clothing works best given the desert heat, with closed shoes rather than sandals for the quad bike segment. A hat and sunglasses are worth bringing regardless of season—there's little shade on the Plateau.
