The Cairo by Night Tour is a private, 4-hour evening excursion with your own Egyptologist guide, covering downtown Cairo, Cairo Tower, and the historic Al Moez Street. Cairo doesn't slow down after sunset; it just changes rhythm.
Your guide meets you at your hotel in the evening and starts in central Cairo's downtown district, passing Tahrir Square before heading up Cairo Tower for a rooftop view over the Nile. From there, the walk continues into Al Moez Street, where centuries-old mosques and merchant houses still line the road much as they did under the Mamluks.
The evening ends at El Fishawy, the café where Naguib Mahfouz drafted his early novels, over a glass of mint tea or karkade.
Nothing on this route is fixed. If a stop doesn't interest you, tell your guide, and the route adjusts on the spot.
Your guide picks you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza in the early evening and heads first to downtown Cairo, the city's commercial center, for a short walk past its shopping streets and malls. Tahrir Square comes next, the square that became the center of Egypt's January 2011 uprising and a good spot to pause for ice cream before moving on.
At Cairo Tower, the 187-meter landmark on Gezira Island, an elevator ride takes you straight to the observation deck, where the Nile spreads out below in a way that photos rarely capture well in daylight.
From there, the walk shifts into something older: Al Moez Street, where the Barquq Mosque and School, El Aqmar Mosque, and the Qalawoon Complex still stand much as they did centuries ago.
The evening closes at El Fishawy Café in Al-Azhar, open since 1797 and once a favorite of novelist Naguib Mahfouz, over a glass of tea before your guide takes you back to your hotel.

Hotels in Cairo Airport, Sphinx Airport, New Administrative Capital, New Cairo, Heliopolis, Badr City, Shorouk, Rehab, Obour, Sheikh Zayed, or Madinaty carry an additional transfer charge — let us know your hotel when booking and we'll confirm the exact cost.
