Private Journey from Cairo's Pyramids to the Suez Canal, Alexandria's Coast.

This 6-day budget tour pairs Cairo's ancient sites with a route north to the Mediterranean coast, taking in the Suez Canal, Alexandria, and the WWII battlefields of El Alamein along the way.

In Cairo, you'll visit the Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx, then continue to Memphis, ancient Egypt's first capital, where the Alabaster Sphinx and a colossal statue of Ramses II remain on their original ground. A separate day covers the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, home to the Royal Mummies Hall, before heading to Ismailia to see ships passing through the Suez Canal, the waterway linking the Mediterranean and Red Seas.

In Alexandria, you'll explore the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, Pompey's Pillar, the Citadel of Qaitbay, and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, before a day at El Alamein, where museums, memorials, and war cemeteries mark the WWII battles fought there. Itinerary

Day1

Arrival in Cairo

An English-speaking Aten Tours guide meets you at Cairo International Airport and assists with all arrival procedures before transferring you by private, air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel. Your guide reviews the full 6-day itinerary with you and confirms pickup times for each day ahead. Overnight in Cairo.

Day2

Giza Pyramids and Memphis

After breakfast, your guide takes you to the Giza Necropolis to visit the three pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, along with the Valley Temple of King Khafre, one of the best-preserved structures on the plateau.

After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll continue to Memphis, ancient Egypt's first capital, now known as Mit Rahina. The open-air museum here holds a striking collection, including the Alabaster Sphinx of Memphis and a colossal statue of Ramses II. Overnight in Cairo.

Day3

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and Suez Canal

After breakfast, your guide takes you to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC), the only museum of its kind in Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East, tracing the country's history from prehistoric times to the present day. A highlight is the Royal Mummies Hall, home to the mummies of rulers including Ramses II and Hatshepsut.

From there, you'll head to Ismailia, on the Suez Canal, the waterway linking the Mediterranean and Red Seas. Your guide shares the history of the canal's construction as you watch ships pass through. Lunch at a local restaurant, then overnight in Cairo.

Day4

Alexandria

After breakfast, you're transferred from Cairo to Alexandria, a drive of around 220 kilometers. Your first stop is the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a three-tiered underground tomb complex that includes the Triclinium, where families once gathered to honor the deceased, along with Roman-era statues of the gods Sobek and Anubis in armor.

From there, you'll visit Pompey's Pillar, the tallest ancient column standing in Egypt, before a walk along the Corniche taking in the Abu Al-Abbas Al-Mursi Mosque, the Citadel of Qaitbay, and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. A seafood lunch is included before you check in to your hotel in Alexandria for the night.

Day5

El Alamein

After breakfast, your guide takes you to El Alamein, remembered for the WWII battles fought here. The El Alamein War Museum displays artifacts, photographs, and accounts from the campaign, alongside the memorials and war cemeteries built to honor those who fought. Beyond its wartime history, El Alamein's coastline and beaches offer a quieter stretch of the Mediterranean. Lunch included. Overnight in Alexandria.

Day6

Final Departure

After breakfast, you're transferred to Cairo International Airport for your flight home, closing out your 6-day tour through Cairo, Ismailia, Alexandria, and El Alamein.
