Private 4-Day Cairo Tour Package | Giza, Saqqara & Islamic Cairo

Discover the very best of Cairo and Giza on this 4-Day Cairo and Giza Culture Tour, designed for travelers who want to experience Egypt's most iconic landmarks in just a few days. From the legendary the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx to the historic streets of Old Cairo, this private journey combines ancient history, Islamic heritage, and authentic local culture with the comfort of a personalized itinerary.

A licensed Egyptologist guide stays with you for every site, and a private air-conditioned vehicle handles every transfer, so the four days move at your pace rather than a bus schedule. You'll stand at the base of the Great Pyramid of Cheops and the Sphinx, ride out to Saqqara for the Step Pyramid of Djoser, one of the oldest large stone structures on earth, and walk through what's left of Memphis, Egypt's ancient capital. The Grand Egyptian Museum brings the full Tutankhamun collection together in one place, something even Cairo's own residents are still getting used to seeing.

The route runs through Giza and Saqqara first, then the Grand Egyptian Museum home to the complete Tutankhamun collection and one of the highlights of modern Egypt Tours., before finishing in Old Cairo—the Citadel, Coptic Cairo's Hanging Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue, and Khan El Khalili's alleys of spice and silver. Nothing here is rushed, and if a site holds your attention longer than planned, your guide adjusts the rest of the day around it.

Itinerary

Day1

Arrival in Cairo & Hotel Check-In

Your Egypt Tour begins the moment you arrive at Cairo International Airport, where an Aten Tours representative will meet you inside the terminal and assist with passport control and baggage collection to ensure a smooth arrival. From there, your expert Egyptologist guide will escort you to a private air-conditioned vehicle for a comfortable transfer to your hotel.

Upon arrival at the Cairo Pyramids Hotel, you'll be welcomed with a refreshing drink while your tour manager reviews your 4-Day Cairo and Giza Culture Tour itinerary, including pickup times, sightseeing schedule, and any personal preferences you may have. The rest of the day is free to relax after your journey, allowing you to begin your Egypt Tour refreshed and ready to explore the legendary Giza Pyramids and the highlights of Cairo the following day.

Day2

Giza Pyramids, Saqqara Step Pyramid & Memphis

After breakfast at the hotel, continue your 4-Day Cairo and Giza Culture Tour with a full-day exploration of the legendary Giza Plateau alongside your expert Egyptologist guide. Begin at the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the last surviving Wonder of the Ancient World, before visiting the pyramids of Chephren and Mycerinus.

Continue to the iconic Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple of Khafre, where you can also choose an optional camel ride across the plateau for unforgettable panoramic views of the pyramids. Your journey then takes you to Saqqara, home to the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the world's oldest large-scale stone monument, along with beautifully decorated nobles' tombs that offer fascinating insights into daily life in ancient Egypt.

After enjoying lunch at a traditional Egyptian restaurant, visit Memphis, the first capital of ancient Egypt. Here, you'll discover the impressive Colossus of Ramses II and the magnificent Alabaster Sphinx before returning to your hotel in Cairo for an overnight stay.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Day3

Grand Egyptian Museum, Saladin Citadel & Old Cairo

After breakfast, your guide takes you to the Grand Egyptian Museum, home to the complete Tutankhamun collection along with thousands of artifacts spanning Egypt's ancient civilization. From there you'll visit the Saladin Citadel, where the Mohamed Ali Mosque offers a panoramic view over the city. Lunch follows at a local Egyptian restaurant before the afternoon turns to Old Cairo—the Hanging Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, and the Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus, three faiths within a few minutes' walk of each other. The day closes at Khan El Khalili, one of the oldest bazaars in the Middle East, before you're driven back to the hotel for the night.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Day4

  • A licensed Egyptologist guide who explains the history in context, not just names and dates
  • Entrance tickets to the Grand Egyptian Museum and all archaeological sites on the itinerary
  • Lunch at local Egyptian restaurants on your two full touring days (Giza/Saqqara/Memphis and Old Cairo)

Exclusions

Notes

  • Itinerary Order & Site Access: Site opening hours and access rules at Giza, Saqqara, and the Grand Egyptian Museum can change without notice, particularly around Egyptian public holidays or special events. If a site is closed or restricted on your date, your guide will resequence the day rather than skip it. The overall four-day structure stays the same.
  • Hotel Check-in & Check-out: Check-in on Day 1 follows standard hotel timing; early check-in is requested where the hotel allows it.
  • Physical Requirements: Giza and Saqqara involve walking on open, uneven sand with little shade, so comfortable closed shoes and sun protection are worth packing. The pace throughout is unhurried and adjusts around your group, but travelers with mobility concerns should mention this in advance so the guide can plan accordingly.
  • Dress Code for Religious Sites: Mohamed Ali Mosque at the Citadel and the churches in Coptic Cairo expect shoulders and knees covered; women may be asked to cover their hair inside the mosque, and a scarf is worth carrying for that stop. Casual, comfortable clothing is fine everywhere else on the tour.
  • Children on This Tour: The private, guide-led pace suits families reasonably well.
