Have an early start on your awesome tour of the Pyramids and Grand Egyptian Museum with breakfast at the hotel's main dining area in Cairo.
Start your tour of the Pyramids of Giza, located outside Cairo in Egypt, with a guide who will be an Egyptologist. One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Pyramids are considered to be one of the most popular archaeological sites in the world.
Later, you will go to the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Egypt, which is a museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing the culture of ancient Egypt.
At the end of your day, you will return to the hotel in Cairo.
Meals: Brunch and Lunch
After taking an easy breakfast at your Cairo hotel, you will board a flight to Aswan. First of all, you will visit the High Dam, which is one of the most amazing architectural wonders that have affected this area immensely. It is located in Aswan, Egypt. It was built across the Nile River in order to control annual flooding and provide a constant flow of water.
Then a tour to the fantastic Philae Temple and the Unfinished Obelisk. One of the most spectacular historical sites, which helps in understanding the process of obelisk's construction in Ancient Egypt, is the Unfinished Obelisk.
Finally, be prepared to be captivated by the wonderful temple dedicated to the goddess Isis, the Philae Temple. It is a temple, which was originally constructed on an island in the Nile River but later was transferred to another place after the construction of the High Dam.
Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch
You will return to the City Max Hotel in Aswan at the end of your day.
The next day will see you head off to visit the spectacular Abu Simbel Temple situated by the shores of Lake Nasser. These temples were carved from the side of the mountain during the time of Pharaoh Ramesses II and have a felucca ride. The ride will begin at 2:00 PM, and you will ride on a felucca boat on the Nile River until the night. This is where you will stay overnight as well as have breakfast the next morning.
After breakfast aboard the felucca, you'll disembark and continue by private, air-conditioned vehicle to Kom Ombo. The Temple of Kom Ombo is a unique double temple, built with mirrored halls dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris, and includes a small museum of mummified crocodiles once worshipped at the site.
From there, you'll continue to Edfu to visit the Temple of Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, dedicated to the falcon god Horus and known for its towering pylons and detailed Ptolemaic-era reliefs.
After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll continue the drive to Luxor and check in at the Steigenberger Nile Palace Hotel for the night.
After breakfast, your guide takes you through Luxor's West Bank first: the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III; the Valley of the Kings, burial site of New Kingdom pharaohs including Tutankhamun; and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, built into the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari for one of ancient Egypt's few female pharaohs.
After lunch, you'll cross to the East Bank for Karnak Temple, the largest religious complex ever built in ancient Egypt and expanded by generations of pharaohs over two thousand years, followed by Luxor Temple, built primarily under Amenhotep III and Ramesses II.
In the afternoon, you'll be transferred to Luxor Airport for your flight to Cairo, where you'll be met and taken to the Barcelo Hotel for the night.
After breakfast and check-out, your Aten Tours representative transfers you by private, air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo International Airport for your onward flight, closing out your 7-day tour of Cairo, Aswan, and Luxor.
The felucca night on Day 4 is a traditional Nile sailboat, not a hotel: cabins are basic, there's no air conditioning, and the boat depends on wind for movement, so timing can shift. Travelers who prefer more comfort or a guaranteed schedule should let us know in advance, and we can suggest an alternative overnight arrangement.
Domestic flight times between Cairo and Aswan and Luxor and Cairo are set by the airlines and may shift slightly closer to the travel date; your guide will confirm exact times and adjust transfers accordingly, without dropping any site from the itinerary.
Day 6 is a long day: a full morning and afternoon of sightseeing across Luxor's East and West Banks, followed by a flight back to Cairo the same evening. Let your guide know in advance if you'd prefer to split this over two days instead.
