In Cairo, you'll visit the Great Pyramids of Giza, built for Cheops, Chefren, and Mykerinus, along with the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple of Khafre. The Egyptian Museum holds one of the world's richest collections of ancient and modern Egyptian art, including treasures from King Tutankhamun's tomb. A separate day covers the Citadel of Salah El-Din, the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, and Cairo's modern art museums.
On your day trip to Alexandria, the Mediterranean city where history meets the coast, you'll see the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, one of the world's great modern libraries, the Citadel of Qaitbay, built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, and the Montazah Palace Gardens, one of Egypt's most striking seaside royal residences.
Your Aten Tours representative meets you at Cairo International Airport and assists with all arrival formalities before transferring you to your hotel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. Overnight in Cairo.
Enjoy your morning meal, then set off for your cultural tour in Cairo, beginning at the Giza Plateau to visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chefren and Menkaatre, which is the only one of the 7 wonders of the world. Then we shall visit the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple of King Khafre.
After breakfast, you'll set off for a full day in Alexandria on the Mediterranean coast.
