After breakfast, you leave Farafra and drive to Kharga Oasis, the largest of Egypt's Western Desert oases and the last stop before the route turns back toward the Nile Valley.
Along the way, you visit Qasr El Labkha, a Roman fortress that once guarded the Darb El Arbein, the 40-Day Road that linked Egypt to Sudan for centuries, and stop at the Kharga Museum.
The day continues at the Temple of Hibis and the Roman ruins at Nadura, followed by Bagawat, one of the oldest Christian cemeteries in the world, where several chapels still carry Old Testament murals painted well over a thousand years ago.
From there, you head to Baris, the smallest of the Western Desert oases, to see the Temple of Dush before returning to camp for the night among Kharga's dunes with time for a short walk or a swim in the area's natural pools if you'd like.
