A Private Journey for Newlyweds Through Cairo, Aswan, Luxor and Hurghada

This 10-day Egypt honeymoon package takes newlyweds from the Giza Pyramids to a 3-night stay aboard a Nile cruise, then on to the Red Sea coast for a few days of rest. The route runs through Cairo, Aswan, Luxor and Hurghada, covering the pharaonic monuments most couples come to Egypt for alongside quiet time by the water.

A private Egyptologist guide travels with you throughout, and an air-conditioned vehicle handles every transfer between hotels, sites and the Nile cruise. Two domestic flights (Cairo to Aswan, then Hurghada back to Cairo) keep the trip efficient rather than spending days on the road. The first evening includes a Nile dinner cruise in Cairo; the final stretch in Hurghada is left open for the beach, the pool, or simply slowing down together after five days of sightseeing.

Because the pace, meals and stops are built around two travellers rather than a group, the itinerary below can be adjusted before departure, with earlier starts to beat the midday heat at Giza, an extra night added anywhere along the route, or a different order for the Nile cruise days if flight schedules require it.

To adjust the itinerary, add nights, or ask about specific dates, send us a message on WhatsApp.

Itinerary

Day1

Arrival in Cairo

On arrival, an Egypt Tours Portal representative meets you at the airport and handles the entry visa formalities and luggage collection, then a private air-conditioned car takes you to your hotel to check in and rest after the flight.

In the evening, your guide accompanies you to a Nile dinner cruise, with live entertainment and Cairo's skyline lit up along the riverbank, a relaxed first night before the itinerary properly begins.

  • Meals: Dinner
  • Accommodation: Cairo Hotel
Day2

Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum

After breakfast, your private Egyptologist guide takes you to the Giza Pyramids Complex, home to the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre (still carrying traces of its original limestone casing near the summit) and the smaller, more finely proportioned Pyramid of Menkaure. Nearby stands the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple, where ancient mummification rites once took place.

There's time for a short camel ride and photos with the pyramids as a backdrop before lunch at a restaurant overlooking the plateau.

In the afternoon, you visit the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the new museum built beside the pyramids and home to the complete Tutankhamun collection along with more than 5,000 other artefacts. In the evening, you're transferred to the airport for a short flight to Aswan.

  • Flight: Cairo to Aswan
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
  • Accommodation: Aswan Hotel
Day3

Aswan and Boarding the Nile Cruise

After breakfast, your guide takes you to the Aswan High Dam, built in the 1960s and 70s to control the Nile's floodwaters and generate hydroelectric power, followed by the Unfinished Obelisk, abandoned mid-carving after a crack appeared in the granite.

You then visit Philae Temple on Agilkia Island, dedicated to the goddess Isis and among the best-preserved temples in Upper Egypt, before a felucca sail on the Nile, a quiet, wind-powered stretch of the day that most couples remember well.

In the evening, you check in aboard your Nile cruise ship for the next three nights.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Nile Cruise (onboard)

Day4

Kom Ombo Temple

After breakfast on board, the cruise stops at Kom Ombo Temple, an unusual double temple built between 180 and 47 BC and dedicated equally to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris, with separate entrances, halls and sanctuaries mirrored on each side.

Afterward, you return to the ship, which continues sailing toward Edfu.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Accommodation: Nile Cruise (onboard)
Day5

Edfu Temple

Following breakfast, you visit the Temple of Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, built between 237 and 57 BC and dedicated to the falcon god Horus.

The temple's reliefs depict the mythical conflict between Horus and Set in detail.

The rest of the day is spent sailing north toward Luxor, with the Nile's palm groves and riverside villages passing by.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Accommodation: Nile Cruise (onboard)
Day6

Luxor's West and East Banks, Transfer to Hurghada

After breakfast, you check out of the cruise and, with your guide and private vehicle, cross to the West Bank of Luxor to visit the Valley of the Kings, the burial site of 63 pharaohs from the 18th to 20th dynasties, including Tutankhamun and several rulers named Ramses, followed by Hatshepsut's mortuary temple and the twin Colossi of Memnon.

After lunch, you visit Karnak Temple on the East Bank, the largest religious complex built in ancient Egypt, constructed and expanded over roughly 1,500 years. In the afternoon, you're driven by road to Hurghada on the Red Sea coast.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
  • Accommodation: Hurghada Hotel
Day7

Red Sea Snorkeling Trip

After breakfast, you head out by boat to the Red Sea's coral reefs for a snorkelling trip, one of the more relaxed days on the itinerary and a natural change of pace after several days of temples and early starts. The rest of the evening is free at your hotel.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Accommodation: Hurghada Hotel
Day8

Free Day in Hurghada

A full day at leisure by the Red Sea, with no scheduled sightseeing. Spend it at the resort's beach or pool, or simply rest before the final leg of the trip back to Cairo.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Accommodation: Hurghada Hotel
Day9

Flight to Cairo, Old Cairo and Islamic Cairo

After breakfast, you check out and fly from Hurghada back to Cairo to explore the city's older quarters.

Visits include the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation (NMEC) in Fustat, home to around 20 royal mummies and more than 50,000 artefacts, and the Hanging Church in Coptic Cairo, built above the gatehouse of the Roman fortress of Babylon and long associated with the Holy Family's journey through Egypt.

After lunch, you walk through Al-Muizz Street, lined with Islamic-era architecture dating to the 10th century, and Khan El-Khalili, Cairo's historic bazaar, established in the late 14th century.

  • Flight: Hurghada to Cairo
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
  • Accommodation: Cairo Hotel

Itinerary flexibility: Site order may shift slightly to work around flight times, cruise embarkation schedules, or opening hours, without dropping any location listed in the itinerary.

Physical requirements: The tour involves walking on uneven ground at outdoor sites (Giza, Karnak, the Valley of the Kings) and some exposure to heat, particularly at midday in Upper Egypt. No strenuous physical activity is required, and pacing is set by the couple.

Dress code: Modest clothing (shoulders and knees covered) is recommended for temple and church visits, including the Hanging Church.

Nile cruise cabins: Cabin category depends on availability at the time of booking; couples wanting a specific cabin type or deck should confirm this in advance.

Camel ride at Giza: Included as a short experience at the pyramids, not a separate desert excursion.
