Start your sightseeing at Pompey's Pillar, which's among the ruins of the ancient Serapeum. Then go to the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. This is a burial site that mixes ancient Egyptian and Greco‑Roman art and design.
Next, visit the Citadel of Qaitbay. This fortress was built on the spot where the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria once stood and it uses stones from that structure. You will also pass the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a very famous landmark of Alexandria.
