Your guide and driver will meet you at your Beirut hotel at the time you choose to start your private Chouf Mountains tour from Beirut. You’ll enjoy a drive lasting just over an hour through the Chouf Mountains. You’ll arrive at Deir el Qamar, a Lebanese village. Spend an hour exploring its old center. See the Fakhreddine Mosque and the Saydet et-Talle Church.
Then take a drive to Beiteddine Palace. Your entrance ticket is included. Spend around one and a half hours walking through its courtyards, gardens and museum rooms. You’ll also see the Byzantine mosaics.
After that you’ll have one hour for lunch at a restaurant. Then head to the Barouk section of Al Shouf Cedar Nature Reserve. Walk with your guide among the Lebanese cedar trees for about an hour.At the end of your tour your driver will take you back to your Beirut hotel. If you’d like time at any stop just ask your guide. Physical requirements: Deir el Qamar means about an hour on foot over old stone streets, the palace adds courtyards and gardens, and the reserve adds about an hour of walking among the cedars. Expect steps and uneven ground at all three. The reserve sits higher than Beirut and is cooler, so bring a layer. The palace is not wheelchair accessible.
