Your Baalbek Anjar Day Trip from Beirut starts at 8:00 AM with a pickup at your hotel by your guide and driver. You will travel across Mount Lebanon heading toward the Bekaa Valley taking in mountain views as you go.
Your first stop is the Anjar site, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will walk through its colonnaded streets see the four-way arch explore the remains of the Umayyad palace and visit the historic baths while learning about the areas rich history.
Next you will go to Baalbek another UNESCO World Heritage Site. This place is well known for its Roman temples that are dedicated to Jupiter, Bacchus and Venus. You will see the Trilithon stones under the Temple of Jupiter and take in the amazing architecture of the site.
After having lunch at a restaurant you will go to Château Ksara near Zahle. There you will take a tour of the winery. Enjoy a wine tasting. The entrance fee is included. Finally you will relax during your drive back to your hotel, in Beirut.

Pickup and return time: Pickup is 8:00 AM at your Beirut hotel. Drop-off is around 5:00 PM, give or take the traffic on the Bekaa road. Tell us when you book if you want to start somewhere other than the hotel.
Itinerary changes: Now and then traffic or opening hours force a change to the order of the stops. Your guide will tell you first.
Physical requirements: You'll spend most of the day outside, on uneven ancient stone, with a few steps at Baalbek and Anjar. Wear comfortable walking shoes. If anyone has mobility needs, let us know beforehand and we'll plan around them.
What to wear and weather: Baalbek stands at roughly 1,150 m, so the air is cooler than on the coast. The winter months, November to March, can bring cold wind, so a jacket is useful. In the hotter months, bring water and sun cream for the stretches without shade.
Dress code: Smart casual works. If you go into a religious building, cover your shoulders and knees.
